4 Maintenance Coordinator Nigeria Lagos Purpose of the role:

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective maintenance planning and execution while managing the engineering spares inventory and technical warehouse operations. The role supports the smooth functioning of all maintenance activities across the factory by coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and ensuring availability and accountability of all critical spares and parts. This role is essential to minimize downtime, optimize asset reliability, and ensure cost-effective inventory control.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all factory equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate and schedule planned maintenance activities in collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Utility teams.
• Monitor, track, and report on equipment downtime, maintenance history, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance tasks, breakdowns, and repairs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Plan and coordinate maintenance shutdowns and overhauls, ensuring minimal disruption to production.


2. Engineering Spares & Technical Warehouse Management

• Manage the engineering spares warehouse, ensuring optimal stock levels of critical spare parts, lubricants, consumables, and tools.
• Implement and maintain a spares classification system (critical, fast-moving, non-moving, obsolete).
• Conduct regular inventory checks, stock reconciliations, and audits.
• Liaise with procurement and vendors to ensure timely sourcing and delivery of engineering parts.
• Drive initiatives to reduce spare part lead times, avoid stockouts, and manage obsolete inventory.

3. Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, job orders, parts usage, and stock levels.
• Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on maintenance KPIs, such as equipment uptime, PM compliance, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
• Provide insights and data to support decision-making on equipment reliability, maintenance cost optimization, and spares procurement.

4. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations (including ISO 14001, FSSC, and company-specific standards).
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized maintenance workshop and spares warehouse environments.
• Enforce safe working practices for maintenance personnel and contractors.

5. Support to Engineering Projects

• Provide support for engineering projects by planning spares and maintenance resources for commissioning and integration of new equipment.
• Work closely with project teams to align on spare part requirements and equipment lifecycle planning.
